The first Blade film was one of the most eagerly awaited steelbooks of recent years, and Zavvi’s exclusive release proved very popular indeed, selling out very quickly

If you missed out first time round we have some good news, and the good folks at Warners have seen fit to send a few more Zavvi’s way, and they are due for release on February 4th.

Pre-orders will be live from around 6pm on Saturday January 19th, so ignore the ‘sold out’ notice until then.

Pre-order: Zavvi

Blade (Wesley Snipes) is every vampire’s nightmare: possessed of the same powers as his bloodsucking brethren, but without the weaknesses that can destroy them. Acting as a modern day Van Helsing, Blade sets out to foil a plan for a legion of the undead to wipe out mankind, masterminded by vampire overlord Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff).

    Please re-release 2 and 3.

  2. Making collecting and exclusivity more pointless one title at a time…

Maybe for you dimwits who want to feel ooooooooh so special, like little unique snowflakes.

For us who collect MOVIES, re-releasing saves wallets.

    • Darko Javor you do realise that the whole point of steelbooks is so that they are different and more limited. They are meant to be special

If you collect films and want to save your wallet why not buy a second hand standard release from years ago?

    • Darko Javor Darko Javor says:

They’re equally special to me either if there’s only one of them, or if there’s ten million. I only care for my copy, and if I can get it for £20 instead for £50, try to guess which I’d prefer.

Don’t be dense, Alexa. Try other things in life to compensate for your bluntness.

  3. I would kill for a Blade 2 re-release. Its one that still pains me to this day that it was down to £12.99 just before it sold out and I thought it would drop to maybe £9.99 so didn’t buy it, but its now like £40 on ebay ?

Probably just unsold stock from other countries.

Please consider re-releasing other long-ago sold-out steels, like Sunshine, and X-Files, and 28 Days Later, and Sixth Sense (to match with Unbreakable)…

  6. Can we just get Blade 2? I’m trying to forget Trinity ever happened…

  7. Mark Cordell Mark Cordell says:

How convenient, they found some more. Which for me is good as I missed out on the first one. Not good for those who got it and lose out on the exclusiveness. I’m not fussed either way. But I do get the frustration of those who bought it thinking it was limited and then there’s a whole bunch more flooding the market

    • Mark Cordell in regards to the collectable aspect you have a point, though it’s worth noting that it was Warner’s who “found” them and offered them to Zavvi.

If they’d said no then I’m sure, given what a popular release it was, Amazon or Zoom would have snapped it up.

      Business is business…

    • Mark Cordell Mark Cordell says:

Steelbook Blu Ray News of course. People are quick to bash zavvi when they’re just the retailer and you’re right that if they passed them up, someone else would snap them up. It’s the same as what zavvi have done with the former HMV exclusives.

    • Mark Cordell indeed. Zoom picked those up as well, and last time HMV went down Amazon picked up Skyfall.

Studios just want to make sure stuff gets sold. Not much room for sentiment unfortunately

Steelbook Blu Ray News what ones have zoom picked up? Think I’ve missed some.

So did a bit of checking, this seems to be exact same as what first came out 24 November 2017 then for 5 March 2018 and now for 4 February 2019, same artwork, same link (https://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/blade-zavvi-exclusive-limited-edition-steelbook/11526666.htmlhttp://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Blade-Blu-ray/191527/) and will have same everything right down to barcode. So just more stock of original UK release it seems, so if you missed out first time, now is your chance, otherwise, like me, I already have it, won’t be buying again.
