I already brought the French 38 disc Ultimate version a while back from Amazon.fr for the bargain price of £79 inc shipping,

The original series was exactly as I remembered, hadn’t missed anything, and only gave a short burst of nostalgia, and the 80’s reboot was just awful!!

Decided it wasn’t worth getting the French version with the old series and film included, but this boxset at the time was a lot more expensive than the French ultimate, even though it contained less.

If I hadn’t already purchased the French version, I’d get this instead at the new low price, so that the menu’s and info cards are in English, the old series and film really isn’t worth revisiting IMO.

    completely Off topic,

Am I the only one that thinks that Zavvi customer support are the worst in the country?

Zavvi are great if everything goes as planned, fast dispatch, pre-orders usually sent out early, but something does wrong, damaged item received, cancelling an order, and it can end up being a nightmare.

Last year it took 2 weeks of emails ( no exaggeration) for me to make them understand that they have not given me the collect+ label link. Constantly giving me copy/paste answers that were irrelevant to my questions, or sending out the same return instructions, only with the zavvi return label, not the collect+ label to be scanned in the shop.

Last week canceled an order, selected “I want to cancel the entire order”, but received a notification with only 1 out of 3 items cancelled. Wrote to them saying I wanted the whole order canceled, waited 48 hours for a response, that said they have stopped the order from being dispatched, and I will be receiving a refund, as they had already charged my bank, next day, no surprise, dispatch notifications for the two remaining items. Now 6 days of incompetent or obtuse answers, copy / past replies with no relevance, and again trying to get them to send all the information I need to send the items back to them when they arrive, After two days from dispatch finally got the royal mail label link, and today finally received the Zavvi label link, but god they are useless! Completely unnecessary stress for the customer, and always to cover up their support agents incompetence..

Must have spent 1K+ on steelbooks over the last year and have hundreds in preorders waiting with Zavvi, but they really don’t give a **** about their customers. From now on if the same steelbook release is being sold on HMV Amazon or Zoom, that’s where my order will be placed. Unfortunately I’ll have to continue with Zavvi exclusives, as its better than being ripped off on eBay for out of print steelbooks.

I’ve been lucky so far I must admit, and never had any major problems. i have found that answers to help requests via email and twitter are very ‘cut and paste’ – they either don’t read the question properly, or don’t understand what you’re asking. Only once or twice for me, and nothing that didn’t get sorted out, but yeah, quite frustrating at the time.
