Woefully under-rated upon its release, The Game is a superb psychological thriller, and will be getting a new 20th Anniversary steelbook release from Zavvi on August 7th.

Pre-orders will be live arounf 6pm UK time on Sunday 28th May, so ignore the ‘sold out’ button before then.

Pre-order: Zavvi

Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) is a shrewdly successful businessman who is accustomed to being in control of each facet of his investments and relationships. His well-ordered life undergoes a profound change when his brother Conrad (Sean Penn) gives him an unexpected birthday gift that soon has devastating consequences. “Tailored specifically to each participant. Think of it as a great vacation, except you don’t go to it, it comes to you…” There are no rules in THE GAME.

Assuming you mean it’s live on 27th May, not June?

  2. Will this use the newer 4k scan or be the original release just in a steel book.

To go with their last exclusive The Game steelbook?

I do wonder why the blu ray catalogue in the U.K. Is so poor. Mass re-releases of the same films, whist many multi Oscar winning pictures haven’t been released once.

    • Studios know (or at least think they know) what will sell, so keep re-releasing.

Thankfully we have indies like Arrow, Indicator, 88 Films, Eureka, and Second Sight doing their best with limited resources

I think I’d rather have a limited release of some more of the classics, like the King and I, than 500 steelbooks, on top of the previous 500 steelbooks, on top of the general release of one film.
I couldn’t give two hoots about another Transformers movie set, considering how many of them there have been.

And yet we still wait for Panic Room on blu ray.
