With Avengers: Endgame destroying box office records around the world, it’s easy to forget that 11 years and 22 films ago, the newly-formed indie production house Marvel Studios were betting everything on a modestly-budgeted move adaptation of Iron Man. Safe to say the gamble paid off handsomely, and the MCU has since re-written the rule book when it comes to multi-film story telling.

As well as a 4K trilogy boxset, the first film is also getting a new 4K steelbook release, Due on August 12th as a Zavvi exclusive.

Pre-orders are live right now.

Pre-order: Zavvi

Straight for the pages of the legendary comic book, Iron Man is a hero who is built – not born- to be unlike any other!

Is there any reason the Paramount logo is on there? I thought Disney had bought out the distribution rights?

      • steelbook admin says:

They did, but I guess part of that deal is that Paramount would still get recognition for the part they played in the early releases. Their opening logo is on the new Captain America 4K as well

    • Peter Webb they did, but those first movies WERE Paramount releases, so seems perfectly reasonable to have their logos on there. Captain America 4K is the same.

    • Peter Webb Peter Webb says:

Interesting! I know they were Paramount releases, I just figured their logos would be removed considering they’re no longer distributing the films

    • Peter Webb Yeah it would make sense if they did, but the opening logos are part of a film’s identify.

Can’t imagine Disney ripping the Fox logos from the Alien movies now they own them 😁

The border they keep putting on the front image on these looks odd and ruins them a bit :/

  5. Do we know if this is the same 4K transfer as the German one, as it’s meant to be problematic? πŸ€”

  7. Graham Head Graham Head says:

As this is the 5th Steelbook release of the same film, I don’t think it would hurt if we were treated like our American cousins and got a digital code as well.
