One of Hammer’s most ambitious and under-appreciated films, Demons of the Mind explores the Baron Zorn’s (Robert Hardy) conviction that his son Emil (Shane Briant) and daughter Elizabeth (Gillian Hills) are suffering from a hereditary madness. In an attempt to contain their insanity, he keeps them imprisoned and drugged, yet these measures are not enough to stop his children from expressing their decadent desires and violent natures.
