After creating the modern era blockbuster in the 70s with Jaws, Steven Spielberg reminded everyone he was still the boss with Jurassic Park, a perfect combination of thrilling story and then-cutting-edge special effects, that still hold up today, 25 years later.

With a new movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, with us this year, Zoom are bringing us a set of 4K steelbooks for the first 4 films, due for release on May 21st.

We’re expecting the steelbook finishes to be matte with a gloss on the logos, title and text.

The exact specs of the 4K discs are still TBC, however we do know this about the first film:

“The 4K Restoration was conducted by Universal Pictures with restoration services provided by NBCUniversal StudioPost, ARRI scan at 4K resolution from the original camera negative and 4K workflow with High Dynamic Range color correction”.

We THINK that also applies to the sequels, but we’re trying to get confirmation. There’s no word yet of Dolby Atmos or DTS:X soundtracks, but rest assured we’re trying to get all the details, and we’ll update you as soon as we know.

What we DO know is that each release will also include its respective movie on Blu-ray, and they will carry over all the existing special features from the previous releases.

Pre-orders will be live from around 8pm UK time on Sunday 11th March, and as soon as we get the pre-order links we’ll add them below.
