Zavvi have secured additional copies of the sold out “Lord of The Rings” 4K Steelbook trilogy

First released in late 2020, the Lord of The Rings 4K trilogy steelbook release was a sell-out smash hit.

Recently, fans who missed out first time round got the chance to bag a copy, thanks to a new production run from Warner Bros. That sold out very quickly as well.

Now, Zavvi have managed to secure some additional copies, and these will be available to pre-order for everyone, from around 12 noon UK time on Saturday January 23rd, so ignore the ‘sold out’ notice for now.

As a reminder, the set includes both the Theatrical and Extended Cuts of all three films (with the Extended Cuts across 2 discs each), but other than that these will be bare bones 4K-only releases (no Blu-rays included). All three films are newly remastered in 4K, with stunning Dolby Atmos audio.

Warners are planning a much more extravagant 4K Middle-earth Ultimate Collectors’ Edition featuring both versions of all six films, along with new bonus content, the existing Blu-ray discs of The Hobbit Trilogy, and newly remastered Blu-ray discs of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, for release later in 2021, so if extras are your thing, that’s worth knowing.
